BioRePeel

What is the BioRePeel?

The BioRePeel is a fairly new, innovative peel that uses bio-stimulation in order to revitalize the skin- giving this treatment it’s name. A traditional chemical peel is a procedure designed to rejuvenate the skin by facilitating shedding and sloughing of damaged surface layers. Typically, traditional chemical peels employ a solution of acid-based chemicals that after being applied to the skin encourage the peeling of layers of dead skin cells. The result = revealing new, healthy skin. Chemical peels come in varying strengths (superficial, medium-depth, and deep peels), each offering different levels of intensity, and therefore downtime. Although traditional chemical peels are extremely effective and have a valuable place in aesthetics, the BioRePeel is unlike traditional chemical peels that primarily rely on intense shedding and peeling of the skin. The BioRePeel adopts a non-invasive approach, by bypassing the epidermis and targeting the dermis, in order to address stubborn skin concerns such as acne, large pores, sun damage, pigmentation, and uneven skin texture without the intense shedding and prolonged downtime. The peel delivers a combination of active ingredients to stimulate skin cells, promote exfoliation on the microscopic level, and kickstart collagen production.

Ingredients and their Function
The BioRePeel ingredients include acids, amino acids and vitamins.

Acids:
35% Trichloroacetic acid (TCA): Helps to remove the surface layer of skin and remove imperfections such as fine lines, wrinkles, and rough/textured skin
Lactobionic acid: Helps to improve skin texture, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, while repairing the skin’s moisture barrier
Salicylic acid: Helps increase the amount of moisture in the skin and increases the speed at which skin cells shed
Tartaric Acid: Increases skin moisture, promotes healing, and has anti-aging properties
Citric Acid: Exfoliates the upper level of dead skin while cleaning pores, evening skin tone, and smoothing the skin
Aminobutyric acid (GABA): Quickly penetrates into the skin and helps to relax tense muscles to reduce wrinkles

Amino Acids:
Amino Acids are constantly involved in the process of creating connective, structural proteins that allow the skin to toughen up while maintaining a smooth texture. They also play a part in reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. The amino acids in the BioRePeel are Arginine, Glycine, Hydroxyproline, and Proline.

Vitamins:
Antioxidants have a multitude of benefits for the skin, with the most notable being protection from the environment and ability to even pigmentation and brighten the skin.
Vitamin C: help to control pigment and protect against sun damage while boosting collagen and diminishing scars.
Vitamin B2: helps to improve skin tone, make skin more radiant, and balance natural oils.

How many sessions will I need and what is the expected downtime?
Patients need about four sessions on average, spaced about a week apart. Unlike traditional chemical peels, there is very little downtime with the BioRePeel. Most patients will experience extremely minimal peeling/shedding, if any at all. You can resume normal day to day activities, while continuing to protect your skin from the sun. During the time period in which you are completing the series of peels, you will be instructed to stop the use of your normal skincare regime and post-care will be explained in office.
